For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.

Figuring things out…

I’m still figuring out how to publish things under specific categories or pages, so things may be a bit wonky at first. Once I figure it out, I’ll probably delete this post because it won’t make any sense! Just wanted y’all to know what’s up if things change and get moved around each time you come back. I’ll get it figured out and make things as easy as possible.

First Post/Deeper Intro

Hey all! I’m LC. I’m a Christian, meaning I walk with Jesus as best as I can. I’m human, so I definitely make mistakes. I do go to church, but I don’t put much stock in religion. Religion today is the Pharisees of Jesus’ time. I’m not great at studying the Bible, but I’m trying. I do my short devotions most days. The digging deeper doesn’t always happen. One of the many things I’m working on. I do desire to be closer to God and that’s the best way to do it, along with prayer. If you ever need prayer, please ask!

I’m a stay at home mom to 5 kids. They are Baby Cakes (BC), (I have to come up with nicknames for these two, so I’ll add them later), Love Bug (LB), and Love Dove (LD).

I love talking about breastfeeding and sharing info about it. I want every mom to have the best chance she can have and info is power. I’ve had some not great journeys, a tough journey, and an amazing one that I have gone, and am still going, through. I’ll definitely share about those. Each of my kids will get at least one of their own posts. The younger ones have had longer journeys, so their stories will be more than one post, not because of favoritism. I don’t really know if this blog will go anywhere, but in case it does, I like the anonymity for my kids, so that’s why I’m using nicknames for them and initials for me. I shared my IBCLC’s webpage if you want more info or to talk to one. I’ll eventually add more sites about breastfeeding.

I also love talking about birth. It can be amazing or traumatic. Sometimes you don’t realize it’s traumatic until later on. I know so many say a healthy baby is what matters… however, a healthy mom matters just as much. Mental health can help or hinder the breastfeeding relationship as well as the relationship with your baby. There are some doctors that do not agree with how you choose to give birth. There are some who do not study all of the new recommendations since they have become doctors. Then there are the doctors who respect that it’s your birth and will do their best to give you the birth you want as long as you and baby are truly safe. I always say, or at least think because sometimes I forget to say, do your research and then make a decision.

Three of them go to public school. Stories there that someday I may share. I’m homeschooling Love Bug in kindergarten now. Love Dove is kind of tagging along with her own coloring book, crayons, and pencil. Sometimes she’s more of a mischievous maker while I’m working with Love Bug. I use My Father’s World. I’ll make posts about it, just not sure if that’s my focus yet. I did share a link to their homepage in case you want to check it out. I’ll probably add more homeschool sites at some point.

I’m not great at organizing or cleaning, but once my house is organized, I can keep it clean so easily. No, I’m not living in a pig sty, just not where I’d like it to be. I’m working on both. Slowly but surely.

I’m a plant killer. I don’t mean to be. It just happens. Usually because I forgot to water them. Once because I didn’t have someone to help show my kids how to pick the veggies and I was on bed rest after one of my miscarriages. The other one was due to a sprained ankle and not having someone to bring my hibiscus in before the hard freeze. Then there are the ones the cat has eaten. I’ve got a few that I’ve managed to keep alive for about a month now. Hopefully those will stay alive and I’ll be able to add more to them.
